Epsom, NH, Dec. 20 (1938) - Funeral services for Samuel W. Bickford will be held Thursday afternoon at his home in Gossville. Mr. Bickford, a native of Epsom, NH, died Monday afternoon after several week's illness. He was 73 years old. The immediate survivors are his wife, Mrs. Emma J. Bickford; one son, Harold S. Bickford; a daughter, Miss Hester E. Bickford; and two grandchildren, Samuel Bickford and Jackson R. Bickford, all of Epsom, NH.

EPSOM, March 5 - Mrs. Emma J. Bickford, 85, died at her home Thursday afternoon.
She was born in Allenstown, the daughter of Jackson C. Philbrick and Eliza (Crawford) Philbrick. Moving to Epsom at an early age, she spent nearly all of her life here.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Eliza P. Philbrick of Concord; two children, Mrs. Esther J. Pickard and Harold S. Bickford; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 o'clock at the Epsom Baptist church with burial in the family lot at McClary cemetery in Epsom Center.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma J. Bickford were held Sunday afternoon at the Epsom, NH Baptist church with Rev. William A. Binkley of Northwood officiating. The bearers were Ellsworth B. Philbrick and James M.Steele, both of Epsom, NH; David Philbrick, Manchester; and Clarnece Hanson, Ipswich, Mass., all nephews of the deceased. Mrs. Grace MacKay was organist. Burial was in the family lot in McClary Cemetry at Epsom, NH Center.

In the name of God, Amen
I Samuel W. Bickford of Epsom, County of Merrimack State of New Hampshire, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed by Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say:
1st I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Lucy L. Bickford all my property and estate both real and personal whatsovever and wheresoever situated to have and to hold during her lifetime.
At the decease of my wife, I give and devise my property to wit:
1st I give and bequeath unto my eldest son George Bickford the sum of five dollars
2nd I give and bequeath unto my two elder daughters, Caroline M. Sanders wife of Jonathan C. Sanders, and Charlotte M. Downing wife of Jonathan H. Downing, the sum of two dollars apiece.
3rd I give and bequeath unto my third daughter Lucy C. Bickford the sum of five dollars;
4th I give and bequeath unto my youngest daughter Eliza D. Bickford the sum of one hundred dollars and a home.
5th I give and bequeath to my second son Charles Bickford the sum of five dollars.
6th All the rest and residue of my estate, both real and personal (after the payment of my debts and legacies) I do give and bequeath unto my youngest son Horace Bickford his executors administrators and assigns, to have and to hold to him and his own use and benefit forever.
Lastly, And I do hereby appoint and constitute my son Horace Bickford sole executor of this my last will and testament.

WILL of Samuel Blake 1797

In the name of God, amen \endash This twenty second day of August one thousand seven hundred ninety seven. I Samuel Blake of Epsom in the County of Rockingham and State of New Hampshire, husbandman, being of sound disposing mind & memory, but knowing it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament, that is to say principally & first of all, I give and recommend my soul into the hand of God that gave it and my body to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named and as touching such worldly estate as it hath blessed God to bestow upon me, I dispose of the same in the manner following:

It is my will that my just debts & funeral charges shall be paid by my executor.

I give and bequeath unto my wife Sarah Blake all my household furniture within doors forever and I also give my said wife the keeping of two cows and five sheep summer and winter to be kept for her by my executor \endash also I give my wife one hundred weight of pork and fifty weight of beef and two barrels of cider yearly and every year to be provided for her by my executor. I also give her the northerly corner room in my house and a privilege in my cellar to keep such necessary in as she shall want to put there and I likewise give her eight bushels of Indian Corn, two bushels of wheat & two bushels of Rye yearly and every year to be provided for her by my executor and also _ bushels of good winter apples and I also give her an equal quantity of Sauce to use with the beef and pork I have given her to be found for her by my executor. I likewise give her a privilege in my pew in the meeting house in Epsom and the privilege of a horse & ride on at all times when one shall be kept on the place by my executor.

All the articles before given by me to my said Wife, excepting the household furniture I give and bequeath unto her during the term she remains my Widow and no longer.

I give my daughter Hepzibah Wallace one dollar to be paid to her by my executor.

I give unto the children of my daughter Mary Chapman, deceased, one dollar to be paid to them by my executor.

I give my daughter Mehitable Moses one dollar to be paid to her by my executor.

I give my daughter Ester Knowles one dollar to be paid to her by my executor.

I give my daughter Abigail Locke one dollar to be paid to her by my executor.

I give to my daughter Sarah Fellows one dollar to be paid to her by my executor.

All the rest & residue of my estate whether real or personal, where ever and whatsoever that I have not disposed of in this Will, I give and bequeath unto my son Samuel Blake, to his heirs and assigns forever.

And I hereby constitute and appoint my son Samuel Blake sole executor of this my last Will and I do also revoke all and every other Will or Wills by me before made, ratifying and confirming this to be my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I do hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first written \endash and should the said Samuel Blake my executor decease before he should have children then the Estate to go to my son James Blake should he then be living.

John Yeaton, third, was born in Epsom, March 29, 1804. He was reared to farming, which he followed successfully during his active period; and he died at the age of seventy-six years, leaving a good estate. He was one of the prominent men of his day. While not an office-seeker for himself, he took an active part in securing the election of capable officials. In politics he acted with the Free Soil party, but later became a Republican. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist church. His first wife, Sarah Bickford Yeaton, whom he married December 25, 1828, was a daughter of Samuel Bickford, of Epsom. She died at the age of forty-nine years, leaving five of her six children; namely, James, Sarah E., Daniel, Vianna R., and Betsy A. Daniel Yeaton married Annie B. Rowell, of Chichester, N.H., and has three children-Alfred D., Minot R., and Alice B. Vianna R. is now the widow of Elbridge Batchelder, late of Epsom, and has two children-George E. and Edith G. Betsy A. married for her first husband Thomas B. Robinson, of Epsom, by whom she had two sons-Bert and Elmer. She is now the wife of John Brown, of Northwood, N.H. John Yeaton, third, married for his second wife Mrs. Caroline Cilly, the widow of Samuel Cilly, late of Lowell, Mass., and a sister of his first wife. By this union there were two children: Stella R., who is no longer living; and Fred W.
