WILL of Mercy Bickford 1867
In the name of God – amen
I Mercy Bickford of Epsom in the County of Merrimack and State of New Hampshire, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound and perfect memory, blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say;
1st I do give and bequeath unto my beloved niece Charlotte Goss, wife of Daniel Goss of Salisbury in said State, whatever furniture and other articles I shall leave at my decease in my front room.
2nd I do give and bequeath unto my grand niece Lucy Dow, wife of Samuel Dow of Northwood Narrows of said State, one bed, bedstead and bedding, sufficient to make up the same.
3rd I give and bequeath to my executor the sum of fifty dollars in trust to be paid to the Wardens of the Free Will Baptist Church in said Epsom whenever sufficient money shall be raised to purchase a bell for the Free Will Baptist Meeting House, the said sum shall be appropriated to that purpose.
4th I do give and bequeath unto the Free Will Baptist Church and Society in said Epsom all the money that may remain in the N.H. Savings Bank at Concord, N.H., belong to me at my decease, to be appropriated to the support of a minister of the Gospel of the Free Will Baptist order who shall preach in the Free Will Baptist Meeting House in said Epsom.
5th and lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint Samuel M. Green of said Epsom my sole Executor of this my last will and testament.

[note: Mercy was the second wife of Thomas Bickford who died in 1865. If Charlotte Goss, wife of Daniel is her niece, then she is a sister to one of her parents – Charlotte was Charlotte McDaniel, daughter of Robert McDaniel and Nancy Keniston. Unfortunately, she is not listed in any McDaniel Genealogy and parents of Nancy Keniston are also unknown. Her grand niece, Lucy Dow, wife of Samuel Dow of Northwood, was Lucy Ann Yeaton, the daughter of John Yeaton and Lucretia G. McDaniel, Lucretias parents were Robert McDaniel and Nancy Keniston. The History of Pembroke, NH, oulines the McDaniel family, and there is no Mercy among them, which would make her a Keniston. From the Revolutiionary War to 1820, there was only on Keniston family in Epsom, Nathaniel and Elizabeth (Clark) Kennison. According to US Census data, they had at least one female still in the household between the ages 26 to 44. This could certainly be Mercy, who married Thomas Bickford after the death of his first wife after 1830.]

I have been to Epsom to attend the funeral of Bro. Thomas E. Bickford, a soldier of the 11th NH Regt. Who died the 23rd in the hospital at Alexandria, VA. of wounds received in battle neat Petersburg. Bro. Bickford was a good soldier. He served his country faithfully and has gone to heaven we trust. -

Mary Jane Yeaton possibly remarried a Brooks. She is living in Pembroke, NH with daughter Ina 1880, both factory workers, and her name is Mary J. Brooks, daughter Ina Bickford.William Brooks is in Epsom 1870 Census, but with wife Delia, probably incorrect from the census taker or a nickname. Later married Albert S. Willey.

1900 census gives she had 2 children, neither living.
April 24, 1889 Albert S. and Mary J. (wife) Willey of Lowell, MA, deeded one undivided half of land in Epsom to Charles W. Leighton, meaning all the real estate that was conveyed to them by Daniel C. Bickford and wife by their deed.
