General Notes: Husband - Joseph Marden Sanborn

Was a drummer in Capt. Benjamin S. Edgerton's Company of Col. Isaac Clarke's regiment, the 11th United States Infantry in the War of 1812. Served from June 27, 1812 to December 27, 1813 when discharged. Married twice, once divorced, lived in Springfield, MA.
From Sketches of the the Old Inhabitants and Mansions of Springfield. - At the close of the war he moved to Springfield (MA) and began work for his brother, Simon Sanborn, who was a prominent carpenter and builder. On the 4th of July and on training says of the "old militia", Majory Sanborn always appeared with his drum and ready at the word of command to send forth with stirring appeals from its "head". The enthusiasm with which he applied the 'sticks' in beating the veveille attracted much attention on those occasions.
