John Yeaton, third, was born in Epsom, March 29, 1804. He was reared to farming, which he followed successfully during his active period; and he died at the age of seventy-six years, leaving a good estate. He was one of the prominent men of his day. While not an office-seeker for himself, he took an active part in securing the election of capable officials. In politics he acted with the Free Soil party, but later became a Republican. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist church. His first wife, Sarah Bickford Yeaton, whom he married December 25, 1828, was a daughter of Samuel Bickford, of Epsom. She died at the age of forty-nine years, leaving five of her six children; namely, James, Sarah E., Daniel, Vianna R., and Betsy A. Daniel Yeaton married Annie B. Rowell, of Chichester, N.H., and has three children-Alfred D., Minot R., and Alice B. Vianna R. is now the widow of Elbridge Batchelder, late of Epsom, and has two children-George E. and Edith G. Betsy A. married for her first husband Thomas B. Robinson, of Epsom, by whom she had two sons-Bert and Elmer. She is now the wife of John Brown, of Northwood, N.H. John Yeaton, third, married for his second wife Mrs. Caroline Cilly, the widow of Samuel Cilly, late of Lowell, Mass., and a sister of his first wife. By this union there were two children: Stella R., who is no longer living; and Fred W.

John Brown "Johnny B" Yeaton, 90, of Dover Raod, died Tuesday Oct 19, 2004 at Concord Hospital. He was born in Epsom on May 1, 1914, the son of George H. and Ada L. (Brown) Yeaton. Mr. Yeaton had been a lifelong resident of Epsom.
As a child, he graduated from the New Orchard Road School and then graduated from Concord High School in 1932. Mr. Yeaton's promary occupation and love was dairy farming. During this time, he delivered mik and ice and also worked as a field inspector for the Pittsfield Canning factory. He worked as a crew foreman for the Pittsfield Box Co. Mr. Yeaton spent three years foster parenting for three young girls. He retired as a rural mail carrier from Epsom.
Following his retirement, he delivered newspapers for the Concord Monitor and founded the Yeaton's sawmill. He was the last charter member of the Epsom Volunteer Fire Department. He was an Epsom Selectman for 27 years and received the Citizen of the Year Award in 1976. He was a past deacon and member of the Epsom Baptist Church for more than 75 years, a member of the Odd Fellows Evergreen Lodge in Epsom and a member of the Chichester/Epsom Grange. He played the trumpet and the bass drum during his management of the Epsom Town Band for 75 years and also founded the Yeaton's Old Times Brass Band.
Mr. Yeaton was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Anne L. (Sedjo); a son, Andrew J. Yeaton; and two sisters, Esther Nelson and Marjorie Yeaton.Members of his family include two daughters, Penelope A. Graham of Epsom and Melody C. Spear of Salisbury; and many cousins.
