During the high wind last week Wednesday, a fire burned over about 200 acres of pasture belonging to B.M. Towle. C.W. Leighton and J. and W.H. Sanborn. Three sets of buildings were only saved by the timely aid of the citizens, and plowing across fields.

B.M. Towle got one foot caught between a log and a tree while at work in the woods Tuesday, hurting it so that it is feared it will lay him up for some time.

FORMER EPSOM OFFICIAL, BENJAMIN TOWLE, DIES
EPSOM, May 15 - Benjamin Marden Towle, lifelong resident of Epsom, died at his home May 14. He was the son of Benjamin and Harriet Edgerly Towle, born Nov. 21, 1862. During his lifetime he held many town offices, and also served at representative to the General Court. He was a past master of McClary Grange, Short Falls, and formerly belonged to Evergreen Lodge, I.O.O.F. and Ivygreen Rebekah lodge, Short Falls.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie C. Towle; a daughter, Mrs. Helen T. Rand; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Dudley of Providence, R.I.; three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at his home Thursday afternoon. Rev. Donald E. Macomber, pastor of the Baptist church, officiated. Bearers were Charles N. Huckins, Edward B. Demers, James M. Steele and Clarence T. Cox. Burial was in the family lot in the Gossville cemetery.

In the name of God, Amen.
I Benjamin M. Towle of Epsom in the County of Merrimack and State of New Hampshire, do make and publish this my last will and testament in measure and form following, that is to say:
First, I give and bequeath to my three oldest daughters Sarah H. Wallace, wife of John Wallace; Nancy W. Shaw, wife of John Shaw; and Clara M. Ambrose, wife of Alfred Ambrose, one dollar each.
Secondly, I give and bequeath to my youngest daughter Kate E. Towle, the sum of fifty dollars, to be paid to her at the age of eighteen years.
Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my youngest son Charles A. Towle, one dollar.
Fourthly I give and devise to my wife Hannah Towle all my real estate that I may be possessed of at the time of my decease, for and during the term of her natural life, or as long as she shall remain my widow.
Fifthly, I give and bequeath and devise to my oldest son, Benjamin Towle, all my personal estate of every description and wherever to be found, together with all my real estate from and after the decease or marriage of my aforesaid wife Hannah Towle, to have and to hold the same to him, his heirs and assigns forever, and I do hereby constitute and appoint my said son Benjamin Towle sole Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 16th day of February A.D. 1857.

New Hampshire Statesman 12-5-1857 BENJAMIN M. TOWLE

In Epsom, Nov. 18, very suddenly, Benjamin M. Towle, aged 63 years and two months. He had suffered for some years with a disease of the heart, but death interposed and terminated his sufferings without a struggle while sitting in his chair. He was a man of decided opinions, respected by all who knew him as neighbor, a citizen and a Christian.
By his death a large circle of acquaintances and friends have sustained a loss, as also the Congregational church of this town, of which he was a faithful member. Com. Portsmouth papers please copy.
