Penuel Chapman, was chosen clerk of a proprietors meeting held in Epsom in 1743. In 1756 he was living in North Hampton, but owned home lot No. 16 in Epsom, which he then sold to John McClary. This lot was originally granted to Paul Chapman, an older brother of Jonathan and Penuel, who had perhaps lived on it; he died in 1754.-John Mark Moses
