GEORGE D. ETHRIDGE
George D. Ethridge, a former resident of Lowell for 33 years, but
for the past six months having made his home with his daughter, Mrs.
Gilbert H. Perham at 76 Westford Street, Chelmsford, died yesterday at
the Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness, aged 72 years. He
was widely known locally, especially in Pawtucketville, having formerly
resided at 46 West Meadow Road. He was born in Margaree, Nova Scotia,
Canada, the son of the late William and Eliza Ann (Ingraham) Ethridge,
but came to this country as a young man. In 1899 he married the former
Margaret A. Tattersall, who died last July.
Besides Mrs. Perham, Mr. Ethridge is survived by another daughter,
Mrs. Robert W. Bryan of Lowell; a son, Robert E. Ethridge of Billerica;
a grandson, Donald H. Perham of Chelmsford; two brothers, Herbert W.
Ethridge of Concord, N. H., and Ambrose C. Ethridge of Chichester, N.
H.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ethridge was an attendant of the Pawtucket Congregational
Church and a member of the Men's club of that parish.
