Short Falls, March 14 (1934) - Mrs. Annie M. Wells died at her home in New Rye on Wednesday morning, March 14, after a long illness. Mrs. Wells was born in Concord on Sept. 6, 1862, and was the daughter of John S. Green and Maria Flanders Green. She taught school in Hopkinton, and in the New Rye and Mountain schools in Epsom, NH. On Nov. 29, 1888, she was married to Clarence O. Wells of New Rye. This last November marked their 45th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Wells was a member of the New Rye church and of Buntin chapter, D.A.R. of Pembroke; also a past noble grand of Ivygreen Rebekah lodge. She was the clerk of the New Rye church and the Church society for many years. She is survived by the widower, Clarence O. Wells; two sons, Andrew J. Kyle of Somerset, O., and Arthur A. Wells of New Rye; two sisters, Mrs. Helen G. Yeaton of Flemington, N.J., and Mrs. Emma F. Piper of Concord and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, March 17, at the New Rye chruch. Rev. Milton C. Froyd of Suncook, pastor, and Rev. John C. Mason of West Somerville, Mass., will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the New Rye cemetery. The bearers will be Oliver C. Lombard, Jesse A. Hunt, Walter B. Wells and Kenneth J. Yeaton. Funeral arrangements are being made by Kilkenny and Calkin of Concord.

Epsom, NH, March 6 (1937) - Mr. Wells was born in Epsom May 27, 1862. He had always lived on the home farm in New Rye,. On Nov. 29, 1889, he was married to the late Annie M. Kyle. Mr. Wells had been a member of Evergreen lodge, I.O.O.F., Ivygreen Rebekah lodge, and McClary grange. He served the town of Epsom as selectman, was a member of the New Hampshire legislature in 1912 and 1913; and was on the Epsom Town committee for many years. Immediate survivors include one son, Arthur A. Wells; four grandchildren, Natalie, Neal, Norma and Maida Wells; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Clarence O. Wells were held at the Union Congregational church in New Rye Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. John Mason officiated, assisted by Rev. Ralph Osborne, pastor of the Baptist church in Epsom, NH. the service was largely attended. The bearers were W.B. Wells, Jesse Hunt, Oliver C. Lombard and George A. Skinner. Eugene Wells and Edward Wells were ushers. Burial was in the family lot in the New Rye cemetery and committal prayers were said by Rev. Mr. Mason. Gideon Petit, Jr., Suncook, was funeral director and furnishing undertaker.
