Notes
General:
John5 baptized 8 December 1751 when his father owned the covenant [Greenland VRs, p. 93]. It is well known that William Weymouth was at the Battle of Bunker Hill. Also there were two John Wallises, one of whom was the son of George4 (Samuel3). The inference is that this man is the other John. [N.H. State Papers 14:69, Rev. War Service Records for Stark's Regiment show a Weymouth Wallace and a John Wallace, Jr.] On 5 October 1831, "William Wallace, Levi Wallace, Thomas Wallace, David Wallace, John Wallace, and Tufton Wallace, all declare that they are sons and only heirs at law of John Wallace late a private in the New Hampshire line who died at Sandwich some 18 years ago leaving a widow who died three years ago. [Rev. War Pension File #B. L. Wt. 1784-100]. Since we know that Weymouth ends up in Sandwich, there's an argument to be made that this man is his brother. He would have died ca. 1815, and his wife died ca. 1828. She is identified as Huldah VITTUM, daughter of William and Sarah (Page) Vittum of Hampton. Huldah was born on 26 March 1765. [Hampton VRs, II:97]. More research is necessary to tie this identification down. (research M. Hollick)

The children of this family is detailed in "The Vittum Folks" 1922 by Edmund March Vittum and Linnie Bean Page. Page. 154. The discussion "The Tribe of Hannah" right away mentions "some little difference of opinion among those of his descendants now living, as to whether his name was William or John. The present writer, while judging the more probable answer to the question is William, shared these doubts until quite recently, when he noticed that Rev. Samuel Hidden's record of the marriage of their son, William, calls him William, Jr." The Revolutionary War pension dispels that it was William, the correct name being John.
