Notes

Rockingham probate "Samuel Allen Jr., allowed to be Guardian unto Furnal Wallace (son of Nathaniel Wallis, late of Epsom in said county, deceased) a minor upward of 14 years of age, Jan. 27, 1772)

Mentioned in will of his grandfather William Wallace of Greenland, 1772 (Rockingham County probate)

Furnald left a will dated 12 February 1796 and proved 19 September 1796 wherein he is called Furnald Wallis of Lee, yeoman. His sole legatee was his mother Mary Wallis. [Helen F. Evans, Abstracts of The Probate Records of Strafford County, New Hampshire 1771-1799 (Heritage Books, 1983), p. 178)]. From this it is implied that his brother, Nathaniel had predeceased him. Mary Fernald's name is deduced from her son's will (name Mary) and his given name, however, her place in the Fernald family has not been found.
