WILL of John C. Hall 1881

Know all men by these presents that I John C. Hall of Epsom in the County of Merrimack and State of New Hampshire, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make, publish and declare this my last will and testament, hereby revoking any previous will by me made.

First, I direct my executor hereinafter named, to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses as soon as may be after my decease.

Second, I give and bequeath to my daughters; Sarah A. Taylor; Martha E. Emery; Deborah J. Stebbins and Georgianna Desiletts, the sum of five dollars each; and to my sons James W. Hall; John H. Hall and Luther T. Hall, the sum of five dollars each.

Third, To my daughter Amanda S. Hall I give and bequeath the sum of one thousand dollars and all my household goods consisting of furniture, beds, bedding and all other articles used in housekeeping. I also give and devise to my said daughter Amanda, the use of the eastern part of my house in which I now reside, consisting of four rooms with the appurtenances and the cellar under the same, and the right to use, in common with the occupants of the other part of the house, the hall connected therewith: -- to have and to hold the same to her, the said Amanda S. Hall, during her life without liability to keep the same in repair.
I also give her as much wood as she shall need in keeping house, from my wood lot, to be delivered at her house ready for use by whomsoever shall own said wood lot.

Fourth, I give, bequeath and devise to my son Charles S. Hall all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, and wherever situate, to have and to hold the same to him, his heirs and assigns forever.

Lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint Joseph M, Emery of Pembroke in said county, to be the sole executor of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirty first day of March A.D. 1881

OBIT
The Healdsburg Tribune November 26, 1903:John Hamilton HALL of Dry Creek Valley died at theUnion Hotel in this city last Sunday at about 2 P.M.of typhoid pneumonia. Mr. HALL came up from SanFrancisco on Tuesday to go to his ranch, but on arriving here he was so sick he was compelled to go to bed at the Hotel, where he passed away surroundedby his sorrowing family.The deceased was born at Epsom, NH, New Hampshire, and was 61 years and 8 months of age. He came to California in 1891 and settled in Dry Creek Valleyabout ten years ago. He left a wife and four children to mourn his loss. Mr. HALL was a fond father, a good husband and neighbor and was loved by all who knew him. The interment took place at Oak Mound Cemetery Tuesday under the auspices of the G.A.R., of which the deceased was a member.
