Died age 78. Buried in the Cate Cemetery, New Orchard Road, Epsom, NH. The cemetery barely exists, his stone is in two pieces and barely legible. His wife's is nearly illegible and broken. A stone for their son (John 1) is missing, and a footstone marked AC is there which is probably for his wife Abigail (Prescott) Cate.
May have re-married: In Northwood, Nov. 16th, Dea. Samuel Cate of Epsom to Miss Abigail Wiggin of Northwood. (Dover Gazette & Strafford Advertiser 12-09)

In the Name of God Amen the Twenty Eighth Day of May anno Domini one Thousand Seven hundred and fifty seven I Tucker Cate of Greenland in the province of New Hampshire Yeoman Being very week of Body * * *
Item I Give unto my three daughters viz Abigail Cate, Rachel Cate and Sarah Cate, the use and privilege of one half of my Dweling house Sellar and Barne while they remain unmarried and a sufficiency of wood for fire to burn in said house during said term
