The relationship, Joseph being son of Jacob and Sarah (Sanborn) is found NHVR.

2. Joseph-2 WELLS (?Moses-1) of Hampton Falls was born before 1753
[date estimated from the birth of his eldest known child in 1774] and
died between 06 May 1792 (when he made his will) and 27 December 1792 (when it was admitted to probate) [Hoyt, 818]. Although proof is lacking, this Joseph appears to be the son of this name mentioned in the will of Moses-1 WELLS, above. Joseph's own will mentions his wife, Eunice,

Of Hampton Falls at the time of his step father's estate probate, his mother being of Epsom.

Will of Joseph Saturley (Saturlay) - 1838

In the name of God, Amen. I Joseph Saturlay of Epsom in the County of Merrimack and State of New Hampshire, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following. -

First - I resign my soul into the hands of Almighty God, hoping and believing a remission of sins by the merits of Jesus Christ. And my body I commit to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executor herein after named - and my worldly estate I give and devise as follows -

First - I give and devise to my beloved wife, Hitty Saturlay all my house hold furniture of every description to be at her disposal - Also all my provisions on hand - Also all my stock of cattle that I now have, to be kept and used on the farm as usual, for and during her natural life, for her use and benefit. And also all my land and buildings excepting the back ell house that my son John L. Saturlay lives in, situated in said Epsom aforesaid, for and during the term of her natural life, and then said cattle, land and buildings to descend to my only beloved son John L. Saturley, his heirs and assigns forever. And my will is that the above farm should be carried on as we have usually done in years past.

Second - I give and bequeath to my beloved grandson Joseph Thomas Saturley, one yoke of oxen when he arrives to twenty one years of age, paid by Executor.

Third - I give and devise to my beloved son John L. Saturley all the rest and residue of my personal and real estate, and to his heirs and assigns forever, after all my just debts and legacies are paid.

And I do hereby constitute and appoint my said son John L. Saturley sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty third day of April A.D. 1838 - Joseph Saturlay

General Notes: Wife - Mehitable Leavitt

This connection needs to be proved. There is no record of a Mehitable Leavitt for this family, however, there is space for such an individual, and is most likely that the family would name a daughter after the mother. In addition, the Chchester 1798 marriage by Rev. Josiah Carpenter would fit the age and time.
