This would indicate that Jonathan Dow has probably died by 1860 with his wife Louisa (Brown) living with his mother Hannah and her son. In 1870, Louisa is living with Emery Brown, known son of Moses. This would indicate that Louisa and Emery are both children of Moses...in fact, Louisa's death entry in the Pittsfield Town Report names her parents as Moses Brown and Sally Marston (variant last name spelling).
Though this gives a maiden name to Moses' wife Sally, the parents of each remain unknown.

So vital records, and Rosilla Clough Heath's first hand knowledge, establishes the parents of Jacob Langley Dow, and either through adoption or on his own accord, was raised by Josiah and Hannah and assumed the last name Dow.
