Note: They probably started towards IN with his parents, David and Hannah, and their party in the fall of 1832 but settled near Utica and later at Rome, then Floyd, NY. In 1854 they were living near Cleveland, Oswego Co., NY. On 29 Apr 1858 they started to WI arriving there 18 May 1858. They traveled by schooner. David bought a farm near Scott, WI. Apparently he was a successful farmer, for in 1865 he bought 40 acres adjacent to his first farm and built a new house - Title: "The Hardy Family in America" (3 volumes).
