James Gordon Organ

In 2005, Harvey Harkness and Edward Nutter purchased for the Epsom Historical Association, an old pump organ made by James M. Gordon of Epsom. Born in Woodstock, NH, February 6, 1841, son of William H. Gordon and Mary Clough. In 1865 he married Carrie Ann Marden, daughter of David M. and Ann (Bickford) Marden, and for a period they lived with her parents in Epsom. Below is a brief outline of his activities and residence. As there is no company name on the organ other than the name of James M. Gordon, it was probably manufactured about 1881. The organ currently is on display at the old town hall.
