Last name also seen McNaughton and other variations.
Selectmen's records of the Town of Ellsworth. The latter records show that Daniel McNorton Jr., Janey McNorton, Crista McNorton, Phineas McNorton, John McNorton, "Mis Dilly" McNorton, and Joanna McNorton, the family of Daniel McNorton, were bid off for support by various townspeople in Ellsworth, N.H., at the town meeting in 1817. Survivors of the McNorton family (whoever they were) moved to Sharon, Vt., as so many of the Avery connections did. Vermont death records show the death at Brookfield, Vt., of Seth McNorton on 27 March 1907, aged 86 years, son of Daniel McNorton and Selina Avery [clearly a mistake in her name]. Also, William McNorton died in Sharon, Vt., on 20 Feb. 1902, aged 83, son of Daniel McNorton and Delilah Avery [confusion in her name because she was called Dilly, I suppose]. William's death record says he was born in Sharon, Vt., perhaps an error. GFS

John McNorton, b. N.H. c1812, mar. in Thetford, Vt., 11 Jan. 1834, Jane Ilsey, who was b. in Vt. c1803. In 1850 they were living in Sharon with children Rachel, Ellen, Rhoda, and Abigail A. [I believe this John was a son of Deliverance and Daniel]
