Buried in the Dowst Cemetery, Allenstown, NH. Died age 67. Marden Genealogy by S.F. Getchell gives, from census information, that Israel Marden had 5 children, with one daughter remaining unidentified. She also mentions that visiting the Dowst Cemetery in Allenstown, NH that she was unable to find any standing stones of this family, and that the family spelled the name Marden. In fact, since her visit, work has been done on this cemetery. The gravestones of Capt. Israel Marden and his wife Sarah Dowst are now visible. Next to them are Joseph Brown (died Mar. 26, 1859) and his wife Betsey B. ( died Jan. 3, 1857). This Betsey is the 5th child, previously unidentified. Her grandmother, Elizabeth (Betsey) Beck, is her namesake, and her brother Israel also named one of his children Betsey B.
Her father, Capt. Israel spells the last name as Mardin on his headstone.

Israel Mardin (first) , a native of Portsmouth, N.H. , settled in Allenstown , and here carried on a good farm until his death, which occurred when he was forty years old. In politics he was a Democrat. He married Sally Doust , a native of Deerfield , and reared a family of five children. His wife, who was a member of the Congregational church, reached the age of eighty-two years.
