General:
EPSOM – Virginia "Ginny" (Huckins) Yeaton, 81, of Black Hall Road, died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at the Epsom Manor Health Care Center.
A lifelong Epsom resident, Ginny was born on April 16, 1929, to Charles and Doris (Waterhouse) Huckins. She worked at the Lorna Doone Restaurant and also held secretarial positions with several companies including Walt Lang Chevrolet, Huckins Chevrolet, Huckins Oil, Christian Mutual Life Insurance Co., and the medical office of Dr. Strong.
Ginny enjoyed cooking, knitting and gardening. She also sang in the church choir and had a fondness for cats. Most of all, Mrs. Yeaton was well-known for her caring nature, offering rides to shoppers without cars and doing little chores for shut-ins.
Members of her family include her husband of 61 years, Albert J. Yeaton Jr. of Epsom; three sons, Donald Yeaton and his wife, Wendy, Douglas Yeaton and his wife, Linda, and Daniel Yeaton and his wife, Sherry, all of Epsom; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Gordon "Tom" Huckins and his wife, Ruth, of Pittsfield; a sister, Louise "Weezie" Garland of Bradenton, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may gather on Tuesday, March 22, beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the Epsom Bible Church, 398 Black Hall Road in Epsom. The Rev. Tim Kenney, pastor, will officiate at 4 p.m. services, which will be followed by a reception. Spring burial will be in the McClary Cemetery in Epsom.
