General:

CHICHESTER – Mrs. Doris M. (Fowler) Saturley, 93, of Granny Howe Road, died Friday, March 18, 201, at the Concord Hospital.
Born Feb. 27, 1918, and raised in Pembroke, Doris was the daughter of Martin and Ethel (Cleveland) Fowler.
After she earned her bachelor's degree in education, Doris spent 37 years teaching. She worked in the towns of Deerfield, Chester, Hooksett, and in Concord at the Walker and Eastman Schools.
She was a member of the N.H. State Education Association and the Merrimack Valley Retired Educators Association. She was active in the Grange on the national, state and the local levels – Pomona Grange 111 – and held a variety of posts, including lady assistant steward, ceres, and treasurer. As a member of the First Congregational Church of Pembroke, Mrs. Saturley had served as president of the women's fellowship.
Mrs. Saturley's spare time was filled with reading, word and jigsaw puzzles, and needlework. She also enjoyed spending time in her flower garden and traveling.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John L. Saturley of Chichester; a son, Paul McCully and his wife, Doris, of Chichester; step-children Elaine Forst of Henniker, Constance Saturley of Apache Junction, Ariz., Stephen Saturley and his wife, Judy, of Penacook, and John Saturley and his wife, Mary, of Pembroke; her daughter-in-law, Janet McCully of Concord; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Saturley was predeceased by her first husband, Clarence McCully; her son Neil McCully; and her brothers, Arthur and Donald Fowler.
Friends and family are invited to gather to share memories Monday, March 21, from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Pembroke. The Rev. Jim Howard will officiate.
Collation will follow the service and burial will take place later in the spring at the Great Hill Cemetery in Chester.
