General:

EPSOM - Wesley Demers, 60, a lifelong resident of Epsom, lost his year-long battle with osteosarcoma on Sunday, June 10, 2012, his 40th wedding anniversary.

For 40 years, he delivered propane locally. He spent the last 20 years with Irving Energy before retiring due to his illness.

He served with C Battery, 3rd Battalion, 197th Artillery Army National Guard out of Franklin from 1971 to 1977. He was a member of Epsom Post 112 American Legion from 1971-2009.

He was always proud of his vegetable garden. He enjoyed fishing, reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Darbie Babkirk Demers; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Wendy Demers; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Josuah Dupuis; his beloved grandchildren, Jenna, Leah and Josuah Dupuis Jr. and Wesley and Lani Demers; and two brothers and a sister, Robert and Janice Demers, Peter Demers and Donna and Bob Bean. He also leaves his in-laws, Clive and Lois Babkirk, and many extended family members.

There will be a celebration of his life Sunday, June 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Epsom Fire Station.
