Dies on 80th Birthday
FONDA - Funeral services for Wesley J. Tallman, 80, who died Monday morning at the home of his son, Russell Tallman, on Danascara farm at DeGraff's Hill, east of Fonda, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Jackson funeral home, Fonda. Rev. Harry Eliason of Currytown, officiated. Thursday afternoon a funeral service will be held at the Free Baptist Church at Epsom, of which he was a member, and burial will follow in McClary cemetery at Epsom Center.
Mr. Tallman was born Aug. 2, 1868, a son of John Mile Tallman and Lucinda Tallman. Death occurred on his 80th birthday anniversary. A farmer by occupation, he had resided in the Town of Root since 1928, coming there with his family from Epsom, N.H.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie Brown Tallman; five sons, Howard of Columbia, SC.; Laurence and Carroll Tallman, Rochester; Ray Tallman of San Jose, Calif., and Russell Tallman, Fonda; three daughters, Mrs. Clara Jones of Laconia, NH; Mrs. Eleanor Lyons, Canajoharie and Mrs. Ruth Wheeler, Canajoharie; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Lamberton of Moores Forks, NY.; Miss Hannah and Miss Ruth Tallman, Manchester, NH., one brother, also of Manchester; nine grandchildren; one greatgrandchild, nieces and nephews.
