PEMBROKE \endash Myra Katherine "Mike" (Palmer) Munroe, 86, a longtime resident of Pembroke, died Friday, December 14, 2012, at the Epsom Health Care Center.
Born in Epsom in 1926, Myra was the daughter of Esther (Waterhouse) Palmer and Elmer H. Palmer.
She graduated from Pembroke Academy and was a graduate of the Business Program of NH College. She was a member of the Pembroke Congregational Church, the Buntin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and had also been an active member of the Pembroke Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary for many years.
"Mike," as husband and friends affectionately knew her, enjoyed camping, traveling, hiking, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and husband of 66 years. Most recently, she enjoyed caring for and spending time with her grandson, Matthew.
Myra was predeceased by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Fitch and Robert of Littleton, Mass.; a sister, Melba, and two brothers, Leon and Elmer Jr. of Epsom.
She is survived by her husband, Henry; a daughter, Terry Coll and husband Ronald of Auburn; a son, Mark Munroe and wife Melissa of Chester; four grandsons, Adam Fitch of Salem, Mass., Jason Fitch of Cambridge, Mass., Michael Coll of Manchester, and Matthew Munroe of Chester; two great-grandsons, Max and Jack Fitch of Salem, Mass.; and a sister, Ruth Quimby and husband Frank of Epsom. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
