There is a NHVR Death Record: Martha Locke, died Epsom, NH Nov. 9, 1823, age 4 months and 4 days. Born Epsom, NH, parents John Locke and Mehitable Bickford. This has to be an error. Not knowning the original source used by the town clerk when this was submitted in 1906, it would appear this would be for Martha D. Locke of the first marriage of John Locke to Abigail Locke. The death date matches that given in the Locke Genealogy, and the grave of Martha D. clearly indicates she died age 21 which would match Locke Genealogy also for a birth in 1801. The 4 days 4 months may have been calculated or read incorrectly to match this Martha's date of birth of July 5, 1823.
NHVR Death Record: Martha Wood, died NH Asylum, Sept. 9, 1881, age 58-2-3, born Epsom, NH, widowed, parents John Locke, and Mehitable, both born Epsom.

T.J. - I have found vital records to partway prove Martha Locke/Joseph Wood Marriage - Their divorce record several months prior to Joseph's next marriage to Mary Squares. Apparently when Martha went insane, he divorced her claiming abandonment. Unfortunately, it does not give a previous surname for her but it does provide a marriage date. Click on following.
