General Notes: Husband - Samuel Libbey

Upon his marriage he probably settled in Epsom, NH where he already owned land and where he served several times selectman. He is not mentioned in records of Epsom, NH after 1763. Was of Machia, ME also of 1768.

Rockingham Deeds 37-130 March 21, 1748
This agreement made this twenty first day of March anno domini 1748 and in the tenwty first year of his majesty's reign, George ye Second, King over Great Britain, by and between Samuel Lebbe and John Lebbe, both of the Parish of Rye in ye Province of New Hampshire in New England, whereas the said Samuel Libbee and JOhn Libbee do one and enjoy two certain parcals or lots of land lying in ye township of Epsom, the first lot originally laid out to Jethro Goss -- fifty acres taking its beginning as follweth: on the northside of East Street in said town and runs WNW 50 rods by said street then NNE 160 rods then ESE 50 rods then SSW 160 rods to theplace whre it first began and is No. 8.
Ye second lot originally laid out to Ebenezer Berry fifty acres and taking its begining on the north side of East Street and laying as the lot aforesaid and is No. 9.
To the intenet, that a full afinal and absolute paritiion and division may be made to the said lots of land and between each of said partners in said land, it is now convienient and agreed that ye said Samuel Libbee shall have that lot originally---laid out to Jethro Goss and is No 8.
It is also now covented and areed that ye above John Libbee -- shall have that lot originally--laid out to Ebenezer Berrary, and is lot No. 9.
It is now agreed by each of these partners to these presents, that this within partition and division whall e full and final and absolute as herein is written of and to each of them forever and each doth, hereby for, himself and his heirs etc etc

Her first husband ___ Barber, was carried off by the Indians, and was assumed dead. After seven years he returned and found his wife married. The two spouses gave the wife her choice: She chose Samuel Libbey, and Barber left.
