Business Partnership
The
Epsom Historical Association and local town businesses are combining
their resources to provide a center of learning and a way to enrich
the heritage and history of the town of Epsom. With a limited financial
contribution from each of the local businesses, the Historical Association
will be able to maintain, collect, archive and display items in
a museum setting in the old public library. This partnership will
help provide a valuable research vehicle for students and adults
in establishing a direct link with town history – its people and
places; to stimulate their understanding of its culture and significance.
Special programming, research materials, historical artifacts and
papers from Epsom’s past will, for the first time, be in one place,
and that place itself, of historic significance. Please join us,
as together we can ‘catch up to the past!’
WHY?
Working together with the business community in providing a worthwhile
service at no charge to its residents, is not only important to
greater relations within the locale, but a benefit to all in better
understanding and community relations.
Preserving and presenting the history of a town is a noble effort
and one that provides both education and entertainment for all ages.
Unfortunately, history is not a financially self-sustaining enterprise,
and like large and small communities, museums and similar organizations
count on the support of its business partners. We would like participating
businesses to be proud of being the foundation of this endeavor.
The business partnership
program will include the use of these funds for the following:
First - Covering the cost of the physical plant holding our archives
and displays so it may be made be available to the public.
Second - To provide for the purchase of materials for the proper
display & storing of holdings, and for research.
Third - To provide programming; working with the local schools,
town library and other interested organizations.
The Epsom Historical Association
will ask by letter annually for a tax deductable contribution to
support the described programs. There are no contacts, no obligation
to continue year after year - its like an old time hand shake.
Two plans are available.
