General:

Benjamin YORK, [IV], son of Benjamin and Mary (Coffin) York, was born at Nottingham, N.H. on 14 January 1761 [Revolutionary War Pension Application #S7999]. Benjamin married his first cousin, Rebecca COFFIN at New Durham, N.H. on 22 November 1780, the daughter Abner^5-4 and Keziah (Cromwell) Coffin. [Free Will Baptist Church Records of New Durham, wherein Rebecca is called daughter of Abner]. She was born ca. 1763 at No. Yarmouth, Me. Benjamin served in the American Revolution and afterward became a Free Will Baptist minister. He was living in New Durham in the 1790 Census with a household of one male over sixteen, two under sixteen and three females. He was in Holderness by 1809 when he deeded land in Middleton.
