Probably the David Quimby who married Polly CAMPBELL and raised a family in Stratford, Orange county, Vermont. Enumerated in 1800 in Springfield, New Hamsphire along with Elisha and William, previously they are enumerated in Protectworth, Cheshire county, New Hamsphire. First enumerated in Stratford, Orange, Vermont in 1810, aged 26 to 45, with spouse of the same age, 2 sons under 10, 2 sons 10-16, and 3 daughters under 10. By 1820 his brother Elisha is nearby, and his family now has himself and spouse both over 45, 2 males under 10, 1 male 10 to 16, 1 male 16 to 18, and 3 males aged 18 to 26, as well as 2 females 10 to 16 and 1 female 16 to 26. Still ther in 1830 aged 60 to 70 with 5 other males in the household and 4 females. "William wallace, a brohter of DanielLancaster's wife, Emmaline, was married
to Sophia Jane Nutter. Their daughter, Grace, married David Quimby.

David quimby was a shoemaker. He first worked in the shoe shop at the
Narrows, but later had his own small shop, located on the crossroad leading
to the big houses in the field. Quimby did custom work; shoes for
hard-to-fit feet and special shoes for special occasions. He often made the
slippers girl graduates wore with their beautiful white gowns.

1973 adn 1992 owner: Helen Quimby, daughter of Grace and David Quimby. Helen
Quimby was the last postmaster at Northwood Narrows."
