Joseph Chase⁶, born 21 August 1771 and died at Concord, N.H. on 20 October 1847 [all exact dates from his family Bible, reprinted in William Copeley, New Hampshire Family Records, (Bowie, Md.: Heritage Books, 1994), II:740, hereinafter JCW Bible.] He married first about 1793, Polly CLARK who died at Epsom on 7 June 1797 [JCW Bible]. He married second 4 January 1798 at Epsom, Elizabeth (Betsey) SANBORN, daughter of Reuben and Elizabeth (Ward) Sanborn. She was born about 1773 and died at Concord on 2 June 1861 [JCW Bible]. Two children by first wife; seven children by second wife.
