General Notes: Husband - Reverand John Tuck

First Minister in Epsom, NH, 1761, dismissed in 1774, and died, probably from smallpox while on his way to join the Revolutionary Army as a Chaplain. Graduated from Harvard 1758. His servant Abraham was Bapt. Nov. 3, 1765

Date of death is from a letter written by his grandson.

ALL persons who have any demands upon the estate of the late Rev. John Tucke of Epsom, deceas'd are desired to bring them in to Mary Tucke, Administratrix to said estate. And all indebted to said estate are desired to make immediate payment.

A FARM containing one hundred acres of land; with a convenient Dwelling House, Store and Barn, and appurtenances, agreeably situated and lying in Epsom, between the house of Major MORRILL and the Meetinghouse, now in the occupation of the subscribers, of whom information will be given respecting the terms, and a good title to the premises.

General Notes: Wife - Mary Parsons

Deeded the homestead in Epsom, NH to Simon Ames Heath, Feb. 15, 1797.

From old newspaper 1786 - By virtue of a licence from the hon. judge of Probate, &c. for the county of Rockingham will be sold at PUBLICK VENDUE, on Friday the 6th day of October next, at the dwelling house of the widow Mary Tuck of Epsom, ONE HUNDRED ACRES OF GOOD LAND in said Epsom, No. 8 , in the second range, ---Conditions of sale to be made known at the time and place of sale. -- Allso, to be LETT and entered upon next April, the FARM where the widow Mary Tucke now lives, containing 100 acres with a good dwelling house and barn thereon, the said Farm is partly under improvement, it has produced eight tons of good English hay, sixteen barrels of cyder, and fifty bushels of Indian corn, has excellent pasturing. -- For further particulars enquire of the widow Mary Tucke of Epsom, or Daniel Pierce of Portsmouth.

The estate of John Tuck was sold Feb. 15th 1797 to Simon Ames Heath by heirs Mary Tuck and her husband Thomas Rand of Rye; Samuel J. Tuck and his wife Judith; Love Tuck and her husband Simon Drake; and Joseph, Richard and Abigail Tuck of Boston, all still unmarried.

A parcel of land in Epsom to take its beginning ath the southwesterly corner of land set off by Execution to James Marden, then westerly a parallel line with the oad to the burying yard fence, then as the fence goes to land of Ephraim Locke, then northwerly on the line between Lock's and Tuck's land the full length of said lot, then easterly in the north end of said lot to land set off as aforesaid to said Marden, thence southerly on said Marden's land to the first mentione dbounds to include all the buildings standing thereon. - Mary Tuck.

General Notes: Husband - Judge Theophilus Parsons

17501813, American jurist, b. Byfield, Mass. One of the leading lawyers in New England, he was an outstanding member of the Essex Junto, which opposed (1778) the state constitution as framed by the legislature. As a delegate to the subsequent state constitutional convention (1780) he helped to frame a new constitution. A supporter of the Constitution of the United States, he urged its ratification by Massachusetts (1788). He was chief justice of Massachusetts from 1806 until his death. His son Theophilus Parsons, 17971882, also a lawyer, was born in Newburyport, Mass. A professor of law at Harvard, he wrote many law manuals. He was converted to Swedenborgianism and wrote several religious works.
