General Notes: Wife - Theresa Miriam Hayes

Benjamin Towle related a story that Gorham Rand had trouble with his wife, "caused, so it was said, by her propensity to wave to the train as it went past. Aided by Lemuel Towle, she went away, leaving her child Cora....For many years, Gorham used to set pumpkins on the gate post and label them 'Lem Towle."
Probate records give Theresa M. Rand legally changing name to Theresa M. Hayes (her maiden name) Jully 13, 1880.
