Special to the Union. Epsom, NH, Dec. 24 (1934) - Funeral services for Mrs. Augusta W. Fisk were conducted at her home on Saturday afternoon by Ralph T. Osborn, pastor of the Epsom, NH Baptist church. Mrs. Fisk was born in Deerfield on June 30, 1849. Bearers were Burt D. Young, George H. Yeaton, Charles S. Bickford and Walter H. Quimby. Joel W. Steward of Northwood was undertaker. Among the relatives present were Dr. and Mrs. George V. Fisk and Dr. Reginald Fisk of Manchester, Mr. and Mrs. Kidder Fisk and family of Epsom, NH, and Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Clark of Pembroke. Burial was in the family lot in the Gossville Cemetery. Mrs. Fiske was born in the Mountain District, near the Deerfield line June 30, 1849. She was the daughter of John Wiggin and Esther Libbey Wiggin. Her husband, James O. Fisk, died in 1913.

EPSOM, Funeral services for Mrs. Emily B. Fiske were held Tuesday afternoon at the Epsom Baptist church. Rev. Donald A. McComber, pastor, officiated. Organist was Mrs. R.L. Cass and Mrs. Grace McKay was the soloist.
Bearers were Roscoe G. Warren, Vernon Warren, George H. Yeaton and John B. Yeaton.
Burial was in the family lot in McClary Cemetery in Epsom, Rev. Mr. McComber conducted the committal services. Harley Boutwell of Concord, was the funeral director.

FOSS, Everett O.

EPSOM, Nov. 18 - Everett O. Foss of New Rye died on Tuesday afternoon Nov. 17, at the New Hampshire Memorial Hospital, where he had been taken for treatment on Monday morning. Mr. Foss was born in West Alton on July 26, 1872 and was the son of Charles H. Foss and Roxanna Rollins Foss. He had lived in Epsom for about 47 years, and had been making his home with his sister, Mrs. Nora A. Murby in New Rye. Mr. Foss was a past noble grand of Evergreen lodge I.O.O.F., and was serving as an appointed officer at the time of his death. He was a member of Ivygreen Rebekah lodge and McClary grange, both of Short Falls. The survivors are his sister, Mrs. Murby, and a brother, Bertel R. Foss of Penacook, and several nieces and nephews. Everett O. Foss was buried in the family lot of the New Rye Congregational church. Bearers at the funeral were William E. Yeaton, Walter B. Wells, N.S cott Munroe and George H. Haynes.

In Epsom, 16th inst Mrs. Betsey, wife of Mr. Samuel Fowler, 53. She retired to rest the evening previous in usual health and slept soundly through the greater portion of the night, when she was suddenly attacked by disease, her vital energies paralyzed, and , almost before family could be roused and informed of her situation, she expired. Estimable in all the various relations of life, her loss is deeply felt, and will be long and sincerely regretted.

Pittsfield, Miss Ida M. Fowler
Miss Ida M. Fowler, 85, who retired in 1950 as a teacher, died at Concord Hospital yesterday, after a long illness. (Dec. 24, 1962)
A native of Epsom, Miss Fowler attended Epsom and Pembroke schools, and was graduated from Plymough Normal School in 1899. She taught school 46 years here, also taught in Epsom and Littleton.
Miss Fower was a member of Park Street Baptist Church and of Mission CIrcle. She was a charter and honorary member of Pittsfield Woman's Club, was chaplain of Benjamin Sargent Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and was a charter and honorary member of Ivygreen Rebekah Lodge of Short Falls. She was an honorary member of Golden Rule Circle.
She leaves a sister, Mrs. Florence L. Yeaton of Epsom; four nephews, Roger Fowler of Suncook and Warren Fowler and Fred and Millard Yeaton of Epsom; several grandnephews and grandnieces.

The funeral of James W. Fowler, aged 73 years, was held at the residence Thursday afternoon, October 10. Rev. G.B. Southwick conducted the service. Bearers were James H. Tripp, James E. Marden, Blanchard Fowler and Ernest Heath. Burial was in the family lot at Short Falls cemetery under the direction of C.H. Foster of Concord.

ALLENSTOWN, Feb. 8 - Philip Fowler, at 92 to oldest resident of Allenstown, died this morning at Sacred Heart hospital in Manchester.
Born in Epsom, he had lived here for many years with his son Roger W. Fowler at 37 Main street.
Survivors include two sisters, Miss Ida M. Fowler of Pittsfield and Mrs. Florence L. Yeaton of Epsom; three grandsons, Howard P. Fowler of Andover Mass., Everett R. Fowler of Manchester, and Kenneth F. of Allenstown; three great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Petit Funeral home Wednesday at 2 o'clock.

FOWLER, Samuel

In Epsom, March 5, 1860, in the 85th year of his age, Mr. Samuel Fowler, a lineal descendant in the fifth generation, from Philip Fowler who came to Massachusetts in the ship Mary and John in 1633. The deceased was born in Newmarket, this State, May 9, 1775, to which place his father and grandfather had removed from Ipswich, Mass., in 1743 and removed with his father's family to Epsom in 1778, and ever afterwards resided there upon the same farm. He was a man of sound sense and strict integrity, much esteemed by his neighbors and friends.

In Pembroke, Sept. 22, Winthrop Fowler Esq., formerly of Epsom, youngest and only surviving child of the late Symonds Fowler, in the 74th year of his age. He filled many public offices in his native town, and was ever distinguished for the clearness and soundness of his judgment and for the strict integrity and uprightness of his character and conduct.

Benjamin Freese, a lifelong resident of this town, passed away Sept. 23, at the home for several years. Mr. Freese was 85 years old and had no near relatives. He had been an invalid for a number of years having been confined to a wheel chair. Funeral services were held at Mr. Fiske's Monday afternoon, Rev. A. R. Toothacre officiating. Interment at McClary cemetery. [Epsom records give parents as Benjamin Freeze and Sarah Sanders, she being born Epsom]
